I'm not a gamer. I guess my attention span is so short that a single game can't keep me involved for hours anymore. I used to love Action Quake, a mod to the original Quake...and I guess you can say that I'm a fan of Katamari Damacy, which was the only reason I traded my Xbox for a PS2, but seriously, I'm not a gamer. If given the opportunity, I'd play for maybe half an hour or an hour, but after that, my attention wanders off.

...now this guy, on the other hand, is a gamer. He's probably saying...

"I put the 'me' in 'gamer'!"

But seriously, FTA:

The first buyer, Isaiah Triforce Johnson, had been waiting outside the store for more than a week. He wore a Nintendo Power Glove, a wearable controller that came out in 1989, while shaking hands with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. Johnson said he had legally changed his name to include a reference to Nintendo's Zelda series of games.

In another article, Triforce said the following after obtaining his Wii:

“I am going to go to the hotel across the street and play this,” Triforce said. “Gamers do not sleep. We sleep when we pass out. I guess my biological gaming clock will tell me when to pass out,” the married 29-year-old gamer said. “I go home when I am done playing.”

Is Triforce some thin bespectacled pizza-faced dork?

Nope.

It's Eddie Griffin's brother from another mother.
those crazy Europeans are at it again.

They're planning on preventing traffic accidents by implementing Controlled Chaos...or in other words, removing all signage, traffic lights, and yes, even the lines on the roads. WTF?!?!

I thought it was pretty crazy that there were no lines on the main roads in Paris, but no signage?

FTA:

The new model's proponents envision today's drivers and pedestrians blending into a colorful and peaceful traffic stream.

oh yeah...I can think of what kind of colorful blend that would be:

...that picture, BTW, is what happens to a brand new BMW 645i after hitting a truck on the autobahn at 125 MPH. Here's another picture:

...amazingly, the BMW driver walked away from the accident!

Death at 30.

yep. I'm contemporary with VHS.

You know you're getting old when you grow up with a format and watch it die. The Variety Obituary is actually pretty touching.

Well, come to think of it, I also remember having a Betamax player back in the Philippines, but that was a LONG time ago.

I still have a VCR. It's sitting above my PS2 and next to the Dish DVR, DVD player, and Receiver.

We use the VCR for a clock...

...so the 20th anniversary of the original Transformers movie is out...in completely remastered chocolate-covered DVD goodness!

lucky me, I've got just enough left over on my Best Buy gift certificate that I can get it!!!

yay!

if I can just find the time to watch it, since we all know that Spike, yes, Spike, yells out 'shit' in the movie...but this time around, I don't think I'll be so scandalized.

for those not in the know, here's a good clip to sum up what happens AFTER the Transformers Movie takes place:

the Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime

...now if only they'll release "GI Joe - the Movie" so we can all go around and yell...COBRA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!
